Not sure whether it is new software or Firefox version two. I downloaded the new version and now I notice the window here on the forum underlines in red when I make a typo.

Is it Firefox 2 at work or has spell checking been added to our forum as a new feature?

It's a Firefox feature. If you're a Mac user, it's also in Camino.

Or you can, in other apps like Safari, "right" click on any highlighted word and it'll give you the correct spelling (if yours is incorrect). From that same menu you can choose one of the check spelling options.

My favorite though is the automatic dictionary feature. With the cursor over the word you're interested in (it doesn't have to be highlighted), press command-control-D. This keystroke can be changed, as can others, in Keyboard Shortcuts portion of the Keyboard & Mouse system preferences.

How sweet it is

I used to copy and paste my posts into Word for spell checking but this is so much easier. It took less than a minute to download and so far has worked perfectly.

Firefox 2 is free of course. I have not tried the new internet explorer so now there does not seem to be much use in adding my name to the list of "Beta" testers.
