Sourcing an air cleaner housing top for '85 R65

bluebird

Bumbling Idiot
I have a 1985 R65 that was missing the air box cover when I bought it. It has pod filters on. It runs ok, but I’d love to return the air intake system to stock.

I’ve been having a hard time sourcing the air cleaner housing top — the part with the snorkels on it. It’s part # 13 72 1 337 675 on this page: https://shop.maxbmw.com/fiche/DiagramsMain.aspx?vid=51897&rnd=09082020

I checked all the links on this page: https://w6rec.com/parts-sources/

I checked ebay and found a couple in Europe that would take 3 weeks to get here. Currently my fallback option :violin

I found this cast aluminum version, which is kinda cool but also, probably overkill? https://www.boxer2valve.com/cast-alu-suction-funnel-reconditioned.html

So my questions are:

1. Anyone have an air cleaner housing top (part # 13 72 1 337 675) that they want to sell me?
2. If not, anyone know where I can buy one? Preferably without waiting for 2+ weeks?
3. If not, anyone have experience with the cast aluminum one from boxer2valve.com? Would you recommend it?

Welcome to the forum! Note that buying and selling in the forum is not allowed, but there is a Marketplace link at the top of the page.

Check the link in my signature line. There are a number of used part sellers that you can try to find the part you need.

From the description, the Boxer 2 valve part is OEM. If that's true, it should be OK. Why not call them with any questions? They generally answer their phones.

Sorry, I didn't realize that buying and selling is not allowed here. I did check the Marketplace and didn't find what I was looking for.

Of course, the day after I post this, and after searching for an entire, I found exactly what I was looking for posted on eBay today. So I'm all set. Now I just have to wait...
