Isn't Melody Lee but up there...
go see them once if you get a chance, great show. for me, their stuff is a bit tedious, esp since they're one of those bands that just kept on releasing crap for years after anyone cared, but live they're funny and play at least half good stuff.![]()
Metal meets opera
Same here.
Here's a dude that does 'dark dungeon metal". Mortiis. I'm not vouching for him...
i like a lot of black/death metal from a conceptual point of view, but to listen to most modern stuff is a chore for me. i can much more appreciate the overall sound of the real early black metal bands, because, frankly, it's a lot more "rock and roll" and catchy.
combined with the fact that, all things considered, these dudes might have just as easily been punks, skinheads, NWOBHM dudes or even hair metal guys. the overly serious aspect of the "lifestyle" taken on by much of the current crop is what i find to be a bit, i dunno, silly............

It's like; Damn, that guy is playing those live? I can maybe do a minute of it followed by a long nap.
i don't care for their (and their compatriots in Mehyem, Buzrum, etc) lack of respect towards Norwegian national and historic treasures.
Exactly. Lords of Chaos pissed me off.
I think he did his dissertation on obscure funk-polka bands from Yonkers, between May and September, 1969)
