Mid-South ride, eat, and meet

A couple of twin shock R100’s, R80ST, R80/7, lots of parts bikes to keep these up. And tons of spare parts or as some say; junk.:laugh

Yep, blessing & curse. What happened was I bought a few bikes that I thought were good buys. Kinda cheap and some had some really cool parts. Then some older friends/riders started passing away. I got notice’s from lawyer’s; I’m in will; U inherited his bikes. Call’s from family members, he wanted U to have these bikes. Got overloaded with bikes. Some I sold, some I gave some away. A couple, I loaned out to close friends, planning on riding them later. Now I can’t get in the garage. The only show bike I have is my ‘74 R90. The others are/were will be good riders.

I’m older now. I don’t mind changing out a flat tire at the house. And back when I was in my 40’s/50’s I’d do a tire change on the side of the road in heart beat, but now the idea of that is kinda off putting. The other day I was talking to the little girl next door. She said Mr. Barry, I’m 4 1/2 and showing me 4 fingers. Smiling that cute little girl smile. Well, I’m 68 1/2. I smiled and held up both hands and showed her 10 fingers and told her and a a bunch more. She giggled and laughed. She caught the silliness of it. I’ve gotten older, that’s why I bought the R100R. 1000 cc engine, twin discs, radial tires and no tubes. Plug and go. Maybe time to sell some more tubed tired bikes.:brow

Yes, Leo is my ace in the hole. He forgot more about BMW’s; motorcycles, cars than I’ll ever know. Actually that includes all motorcycles and cars and anything with an engine, transmission and all the other sub components. Thx Leo for all Ur help.

I recently bought a R100R. Wanted an airhead with tubeless tires. Pretty nice bike overall, but it had some small issues I needed to address. One was a cracked rear taillight lens. I called the local dealer about getting a new lens. Wrong day to call; Saturday. It was a perfect day and they were covered up customers in the store. Called and played phone tag over a couple of hours. Hung up, and looked at the lens. Time for a temporary old school fix. Walked down to Auto Zone and bought some 3M Red Lens Repair Tape. Time for a old school red neck fix.

Temporary Fix

It’ll work till I get a new lens. I can do some things without Leo’s help. I can’t reach the side stand, I’m 6’2” with long legs. I can’t put my spring loaded side stand safely. I’m carrying a stick to hold the stand down, so I can get off the bike. Leo, I need help to defeat the spring loaded side stand. Yep, back to Leo for help. :brow Forget what I said earlier.

Allen LaBarrearre and his cool R80 Custom. Been seeing this bike at ShakeRag lately, glad I finally figured out who owned it.

My R100R; making progress on this bike. Check out the ice scraper leaned up on the bike; my side stand accessory. Time to get the side stand issue resolved along with a few other issues.
