...in my experience, they're usually camp-outs in a nice park-type area, or perhaps something like a 4-H grounds, where there might be a few buildings that might be used for informational seminars, or group dining areas. There's often a band, vendors with lots of moto stuff FS, and usually some sort of food available for purchase.

But best of all, there are people...people with rigs you never imagined, people who've done stuff with motorcycles you never imagined, in places you never imagined, people who know more about motorcycles than seems possible...and they'll be happy to share some of that knowledge with you...or demonstrate it by taking one apart right there on the grass and fixing the insides, people who dance like they've just been whacked on the fanny with an electric cattle prod, people whose facial hair is beyond imagination, people with babies ...or dogs...BIG dogs in their sidecars, or little dogs in their tank bags, people with stories about crashes and rides and places that will make you want to go to ALL the rallies over and over.

...There might be beer

Hope that helps...

I guess I've a attended probably 2-300 rallies more or less. Guess I'm good for at least 1 more. :thumb:)

This will me my first national. I was able to attend the chicken rally in full at ditto landing.. Once in '09. '10 and '11 mom was quick to kidnap me as my parents live close to Huntsville, AL. I'm looking forward to Hamburg.

Chicken Rally, nice rally. Chicken mourning, noon, night. All the chicken you could eat. Eat more chicken. Ditto Landing. Rocket City. It was a Thursday-Saturday if I remember properly. Just kinda stopped. I still stop in the rally campground from time to time and get a free shower when I'm on the road. Yep, miss that rally, good folks.

Couldn't help but post another

My son, Cody, as a teenager put together a couple of moto video montages, on our trips to the chicken rally. This is the other one. I'm biased of course, but I thought he did a pretty good job.

I went to the chicken rally several years ago. it was pretty well done. Food was excellent, and it wasn't chicken all the time either. I remember that they served some pretty good pancakes for breakfast.:)

The venue was nice plenty of covered area for the meals. Pretty spacious camping area. I didn't feel crowded. because it was held on Memorial day weekend, there were some pretty hot temperatures,. but nice rally overall.
