RT rear in GS

Anyone replace GS final drive with RT's lower ratio? That shorter GS gearing increases vibes and noise, not sure the extra grunt is necessary in many applications. Even the 400 or so lesser RPM at any given road speed (like RT) could be a welcomed change. For one up hard road conditions seems there'd still be adequate acceleration even if it was a gear lower. Can RT FD work with WC GS?

Long answer to a short question. I did a similar swap to get the taller K100 gearing on a K75. It worked out well. Lower RPM at highway speeds, etc. It didn't improve fuel mileage a bit, though. And K75s don't vibrate so no help there.

But, I have a couple of R1100xx final drives on the shelf and the provisions for the ABS sensor are different on the two drives. So an RS vs RT swap wouldn't work with those drives. Not sure of years.

So, you need to check whether all of the details of the two drives match up - not just whether it might bolt into place.
