Oil warning temporarily lights?

This evening when I rode back home after dinner I noticed the warning light was lit on the dash and the message OIL! appeared - but within perhaps 10 minutes or less it went away.

Temperature was around 54 degrees - this did not happen on my ride to dinner.

Anyone have an idea of why the iiil light would go on for just a few minutes?

What grade of oil do you use, it could be that the ride home was cooler and the oil took a few minutes to warm up and thin out from its cold thicker state, someone else could not get his scooter started with a 20w50 weight oil in it because it was to thick.
try to duplicate the situation again.

Oil level is slightly on the low side, happened to a friends after service, low switch was sensitive, adding about 1/2 pint solved the problem
