Oil Pan switch

I was looking into a skid plate for my bike which has a deep sump, another thread, blah blah blah.

What if I switched the stock pan, R100RS '88 with one from a R100GS of similar years 87-90?

Possible?

Now if this can be done, what about the oil capacity difference?
I put miles on this bike and it does have an oil cooler.
