Hi all! After a long hiatus from airhead ownership, I’m “back on the saddle” of a 1989 BMW R100RT which has been thoughtfully converted to a R100s (right, a mono R100s). I purchased this machine from an active member on this site. I’ve owned 4 other airheads over the years – my first one being a 1981 BMW R100RS I purchased new as a young man. I rode the wheels off that bike and really loved it. Since then, I’ve owned another R100, a /5 (toaster) and a /6 – all great bikes (the /5 “brakes” were terrifying, however). When not on airheads, I’ve owned many many other brands of bikes – my “stable” is currently at 9 “other” bikes (H.D., Suzuki, Yamaha, Royal Enfield and so on). I share time between Colorado Springs, CO and Phoenix, AZ and commute between the two cites on my bikes with occasional trips to both coasts and frequent trips to visit family in Michigan.

I’m spending more time in Phoenix these days so hope to catch up with some airheads in the area for rides, coffee and such and to find local resources to help on the bike. Don’t hesitate to reach out and say hi – I’m just a couple blocks North of downtown Phoenix area. Best, Al
