I have a 1985 K100 RS and seem to be having some electrical issues. Can anyone recomend a good local mechanic? Perhaps one that works out of their home.

I don't know any DIY mechanics around there but I have had nothing but excellent service from BMW Louisville. Might want to talk to them and see if they can help or point you in the right direction. Jeff has helped me on short notice calling from Tennessee at closing time and getting in the next day. Haven't been up that way in a few years but they were very helpful back then.

actually they have a weeks waiting list to get on the schedule at this time.

Try Guenther Wuest of "Fast by Guenther". He in Fredricksburg, IN, not too far from Louisville.

He mainly focuses on air heads but works on all things BMW
