K75C 1989 Seat cover

Hi !

Newbie here.

I've been searching the treads to find information on which seat cover to buy that would fit nicely on the K75C.

My bike has the low seat from the company. You know the one that unclip and that you take away, NOT the hinged type. This type of seat do away with side covers since it is really low.

I've seen things on ebay, but can't figure out if it will fit my low seat ?

Any advise ? I'm in Canada, Quebec actually.

Have not dealt with this company, but this one looks interesting because they use leather. (I prefer leather to vinyl) They also offer vinyl if you look in their store.

This one LOOKS nice, but I would be concerned with dealing with communication issues dealing with Poland. Plus it’s probably vinyl.

The PHOTOS in both these ads show the low seat.

Depending on your budget, you could also consider having a local auto upholsterer recover it for you or purchase a good used low seat.

No matter who you deal with, stress over and over that it is for a LIFT off LOW seat. You might even send a photo of your seat to insure they send the correct one.

Thanks, I'll investigate these two sites.

Good idea to send a picture of the lift off low seat. It doesn't seems to be a frequent occurence with our bricks.

If you’re looking for a stock seat cover you may want to contact a custom seat builder that specializes in BMWs, and starts with the stock seat pan. In the past a friend who built seats had a collection of stock covers that he’d removed from seats that he had built. The first thing he did was remove it, then build the seat, and finish with a custom seat cover. This friend has since passed but both of his sons carried on, each starting their own custom seat businesses. Good luck on your search and enjoy your K.

Motobins in the UK has seat covers. You might want to give them a look. I've purchased items from them for my 1988 R100 RT with no problems; however, I have not ordered a seat cover.

I think I will get an upholstery shop do one for me.

Didn't know theses replacment seat covers for the Low seat were so scarce on the groung

The picture does appear to be the low seat.

It’s strange that they call it a “long” seat as it is actually shorter (front to rear) than the standard seat because of the rubber tank surround. Maybe they mean “long” as in top to bottom, which it is because the longer sides of the seat replacing the battery side covers. That is why the low seat is a lift off seat as opposed to the standard hinged seat.

The picture is the low seat. The price is very reasonable.

It is effectively the low seat, and for a leather cover the price is indeed quite reasonnable !

I brought the leather version (UK supplier) for the Low (Long) seat.

Fit is fantastic, smell is awsome, final result extraordinaire.

Look at the before and after pictures, they speak for themselves !

Btw don't try to put T50 tack in that plastic pan, they won't get through !
