Howdy Folks,
Just got a new 2019 R1250 GS and really love it. Now I get why people are so loyal to the bike.

My basic story is that I rode dirt bikes as a kid/teen then went on a 30+ year hiatus from motorcycles. Once my kids were older and my wife determined that I was expendable, I got back into it. Had a Harley for a year and determined that cruisers were not my thing. Traded it for a 2007 Multistrada that was a great bike for all 32,000 miles. It never broke down on me and it gave me some great adventures. In 2016 I was itching for something new and was seduced by the incredible V4 power and crisp handling of a 2016 Aprilia Tuono. A wonderful, yet not exactly practical bike for me, so after just shy of three years, I traded it in on the new GS.

Though I believe there is no such thing as "too many motorcycles" I am pretty much a one-bike guy and the GS does everything well and gives me the wind protection and distance comfort that a naked bike can't. I really to love the GS. I was put off by the looks of them for ages, but now I see only beauty.

Peace . . . Jim Watkins

Welcome to the forum, Jim. My guess is that the GS is by far the most popular and common bike here on this forum. You will likely fit right in.

Good luck.
