Dealer Service Pricing R1100S Valve Adjust

Good Morning
After struggling to find a reliable, reputable service shop for my R1100S in the greater Cincinnati area, I headed off for Louisville, KY. Harley dealer who claims to be a BMW dealer as well.
I asked to have them adjust the valves and synch the throttle bodies and got an estimate of $450! This seems like a complete rip-off. I've adjusted the valves myself and it doesn't take that
long. It's just a bit difficult and I wanted a "professional" to do it for me. Any thoughts on servicing this beast?
Thanks,
Cantsurf

Considering you can buy your own syncing unit for around $100.00 I would make the investment and do it yourself. There are procedures available for free to follow, I did mine and it was pretty easy.
You already have experience doing the valves, and pocket the $350.00 to buy some farkles. The 1100's are more user friendly for the DYI owners as far as maintenance.

Here is the unit i purchased from Capitol Cycle: Twinmax Carburetor Balancer Tool BMW.

Grok passed away. His family is supposed to be trying to arrange for continuing the manufacture of the Harmonizer, but I don’t know how well that is going. I have a Harmonizer and a TwinMax - Harmonizer is the best balancing tool I have ever used.

Harmonizers are pretty much unobtainium. The TwinMax is probably the best of the commonly available tools. I also have one of these for my 4-cyl. K bike and it works quite well. It can be used for 2-cyl. engines just as well.

Twin Max works well on my 04’ 1100S. Had BMW authorized dealer check it with their BMW computer-tool. Nearly dead on. Cadre Cycle N. Cincinnati, just inside I-275 loop can do most 1100 maintenance.
