Damn inflation. The kermit chair in that 2008 thread was $129. The kermit chair is currently $299 to $349 (depending on type of wood), which equates to a ±8.8% annual average increase based on the $299 base price. Leg extensions are $50 and a cup holder is $20.
So, for less than $40 I ordered the Marchway Chair. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B5LGVZNC?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
It came today and it seems like a good chair and it has a cup holder on the right side as well. I thought it might be a bit low, but didn't seem that way. It went together real quick and easy. Folding it back up was just as easy, but it takes a bit of fiddling to get all the poles to line up properly to take up the least amount of space. I like how it's very compact. I sat in the REI equivalent, and I think the Marchway is a bit more comfortable for me (and, was less expensive). Marchway has several color options, chairs by other brands do not have color options or as many.
Nobody has yet mentioned the Big Agnes chair. Packs smaller and lighter than the Kermit, and no fragile joints like the Helinoxi and their knock offs. https://www.bigagnes.com/collections/chairs/products/big-six-camp-chair?variant=42837314339065
Mine is going on 3 years. Dandy product.
REI carries a nice selection. I bought a couple of chairs a few years ago and they've held up well. The rei brand prices seem to be about 2/3 of the Nemo, which they also carry and they have the GCI.

Not to Hijack the thread, but has anyone found a helinox type chair that is more upright (like my beloved kermit chair) the ones I've tried have all leaned back to far to be comfortable (for me).
The beverage holder on the Kermit is a must!
At a "certain age", so are the leg extenders.
I had to update mine due to some changes.
That would be a good little service to travel around and offer.
I don't think I'd be carrying around a sewing machine on the bike.
