Motorcycle was stolen in May 2023 and returned to me in Feb 2024 with aftermarket exhaust system installed and many other undesirable alterations and crash damage (broken wheel, footpeg, tail lite assembly etc. about 2k worth of dealer price parts to restore)
Image attached shows gas sensor and wires recovered with cycle.
Sensor and its wires and part of aftermarket exhaust were torn off the cycle in a crash involving the thief.
1) Is this sensor the original part for this bike?
2) If so which color wire from sensor should connect to which numbered hole in the bike's plug and how?
3) Engine starts and runs. Will the engine be damaged by running with the sensor disconnected or just some performance issues?
4) I have recovered the core of the original exhaust system and installed it. All shielding and trim has been stripped off by thief.
Much damage was done by crash and thief alterations to bike. I need to run this thing long enough to determine if the bike is bent and will it steer properly and not wobble before spending time and money on other repairs.
Please no safety lectures - I am an adult capable of choosing what risks I am willing to take in the conduct of my private life.
