1150 Stumbling like a low on gas Airhead?

I know many of you are at the Rally. Took the bike out to warm up the oil for a change. The fuel light was on so I know it was low, with 150 miles on the tank (Rockster doesn't get a long range(. After some side to side sloshing, the light went out and as I proceeded to the gas station, it stumbled like an old airhead when it's low on fuel. I filled it up and for the first mile or two same issue. I stopped to spectate a traffic accident and the last 2 miles to home seemed to be OK. Any guesses as to what might be up? Might do some test riding this afternoon when the oil change is done. I have a big trip planned in a couple weeks and now I'm a little worried.

Bike has 40,000 miles. 2004.

Water in fuel that was in the bottom got agitated when you sloshed it side-to-side. Then settled back to the bottom later. I would add a half bottle of IsoHeet in the red bottle.

Took it for a test ride and it got worse. Way worse. I rented the trailer and hauled it to a shop. Tech seems to think its a bad coil. He swapped one in while I was there and it was instantly better. It's still at the shop to get a full diagnosis. I'll report back.

Yeah, that's what it was. Replaced them both for good measure. Back in business!

Thanks for the follow up. It is good to know what caused the problem and we are glad you are back in business. :)
