R1200R & R1200GS - mirrors

Danger: Keep Back 500 Ft
I compared the R and GS mirrors on the MAX and A&S online fiche, and now I am more confused.

Has anyone learned the answer to the following:

- Are the R and GS mirrors the same?
- Are the right and left mirrors the same? Or more specifically:
- Are the right and left mirror stanchions threaded in the same direction?
- Are the nuts on the end of the stanchions threaded in opposite directions on each side?

Thanks.

Fred,

From memory - when I put the GS handguards on, using the GS handguard mounts, that include the mirror mount.. the threads are both "normal" clockwise (righty-tighty) threads. In any case - I'm using the R mirrors in GS mounts on my R..

You're asking why?

:doh

Should'a known. Same reason I bought 2 O2 sensors and a complete wiring harness off Ebay - because I could. Makes sure I'll never need them..

BTW - I know my bike embarrassed yours last time they got together - but I'll tell it to behave - really.. see you at Last Chance this weekend? And NEPB?

Fred. The mirrors fit both sides. Just spin the mirror on the stalk. I bought a set of GS mirrors for my RT1200. No such thing as R & L mirrors.
