2007 K1200GT-Driveshaft Questions

I have a 2007 K1200GT and had to change the driveshaft.

New shaft slid in easy but how does it stay into the final drive if it can move that freely?

Or do I have another problem?

Yeah, no front circlip on those models. Once all back together it’s good.

Were joints toast?

Seized. Had an incredible vibration and made everything get very hot.

Clunking sound when turning rear wheel when in neutral.
