Security screw apparently vibrated out of my Zumo 550 mount.. Though I find it a pain, I'd like to replace it.
Before I ask Garmin, anyone know of a replacement source... Seems to me one was posted once, can't find it now...

Thanks
Jan..

Thumbscrew instead of that awful security screw...

Since on a motorcycle, most mountings of the cradle can be easily removed anyway.

There is also a replacement screw listsed on the Zumo Forms. I have one and it works very well. It has a knurled top and operates by hand. Not tools. www.zumoforums.com

Zumo Security Screw

Does anyone know if this will also fit the Garmin Navigator-series mount? It looks and sounds similar.

Thanks. Orv

If the replacement is knurled what purpose does it serve ?

It prevents the GPS from coming loose from the mount through accidentally releasing the lock or having it bounce open. The screw holds the lock in feature in place regardless of the position of the latch down lever. Of course it is not a deterrent to theft any longer.
