Which Autocom to get?

I just got a new Schuberth C2 and I would like to install an Autocom.
I looked at their products on their website and can't decide which model to get.
Need: bike to bike, driver to passenger, music input and cell phone.

There seems to be a huge price diffence in the Active-7-Smart and the Pro-7-Sport. Is there that much of a sound quality diffence between them. I was looking on ebay and used Pro-1 are selling for around $150.

I listen to my iPod with ER6 earplug headphones. Is there a way to use the earplugs as the main Autocom headphones (without installing speakers into the helmet) and only add a mic to the helmet?

Autocom has a plug & Play harness for in-ear speakers. I spoke with the Rep at Lima, and he told me you can order the set with that harness and leave out the speakers. IIRC the savings on the speakers was about 1/2 the price of the cable. HTH

If you plan on using a cell phone then you want the Pro-7. The Active-7 will not fade the music or transceiver when receiving a call. Go to autocom's web site, they have a bunch of info. Look under support and FAQ, for a comparison between the pro and active.

I have the Pro -7 and love that thing. Currently I have a Valentine, Garmin GPS, Cell phone, and a Kenwood GMRS for bike to bike along with a push to talk button all hooked up and it works great. I don't think the cost difference between models has to do with sound quality, but more to do with the options you get.

Autocom has a very responsive service. If you go to the Autocom web site and use the "Contact'" option, they will respond right away with any question. It's pricey stuff, but there's nothing like it when you can communicate clearly with a riding friend who you can see a mile ahead of you or talk easily with a rear passenger at speed. You never have to turn your head around and shout to be heard.

Thanks for the info guys. I bought the Active 7 Smart after work today not realizing that the audio does not fade out. That's the most important feature. I'm going to return it in the morning and get the Pro 7. By the looks of it, you can run the Pro 7 with a 9v battery and keep the unit, the iPod and cell phone on your body.

I also have to get a Torx T8 to open my helmet.
