What length RAM ball mount for GPS?

I'm new to BMWs and to BMWMOA.
I've searched and cannot find any references to the length of the threaded shaft I would need for a RAM ball mount. It would replace one of the bolts holding to handlebar on the bike. I might be getting "risers" for the handlebars too. Would that make a difference in what length of the threaded part I'd need?
Thanks.

Year and model of bike?

Yeah, that's very necessary info.

FWIW, 2005-2013 RTs use M8x30 handlebar bolts, one of which can be replaced with the RAM-B-367U.

That RAM mounting bolt came with my '06, along with both Suburban and Illium risers (since sold). It has worked well with either set and now, without risers.

Thank you for the info. Amazing how one can forget the obvious.

I tend to forget, myself. At the very top of this page you can click "Settings", and change your signature to include your bike info. It then be automatically added to all your posts.
