Starting with dead fob

I'm reading through the owner's manual for the '19 F750GS I recently purchased, and I came across the process for starting the bike if my key fob battery is dead.

According to the manual:
If the battery of the radio-operated key is empty, the vehicle can be started by simply inserting the folded radio-operated key into the ring aerial under the seat.
Remove the seat.
Insert the spare key or folded-in radio-operated key with the empty battery into ring aerial.

When I look under my seat, I see what I believe to be the "ring aerial". But I see nowhere to insert the key.

What am I missing?

Also, related question -- my bike only came with the single keyless ignition unit. How can I go about getting a spare, and what would I be looking at cost-wise?

You do not physically inset it. Just lay the fob on the ring antenna and start away.

Spare fobs are $300 i think from the dealer.

I have a 2019 F Twin as well and this was confusing to me as well. It's best to try it a few times before you actually need it. I also watched a YT video, (on the GS Boxer, which is similar) and saw where the antenna for it is accessed without removing the seat.

You just lay the FOB or the emergency key in the ring antenna to start the bike.
I keep my emergency key in a small zip lock bag in the emergency medical card pocket of my jacket.
We were on a trip and my FOB failed after removing the seat several times to restart the bike I duct taped the emergency key to the ring antenna and only removed it when we were in for the night.

And yes a replacement FOB is $400.00
