I Think I'm Really In Trouble W/Key-Less Fob Fork Locking

Oh boy, pls tell me I'm not in trouble. I'm buying a 2016 R1200RT, I've left a substantial deposit but it won't be finally paid for two more weeks, so it sits in the owners garage. As it has sat for quite a while it's now running very well with a new Beemer battery & fresh gas.
It took some reading of the online rider's manual to figure how to start it, etc. I've never messed with a key-less system B4. Now for the bad part. I put the key fob in the l/h glove box, turned the handlebar to the left and held down the key-less button. Things went 'clack' and the handlebars are now locked to the left. Have I just shot myself in the foot? I'm thinking that I need the fob to unlock what ever I locked in order to open the glove box back up.
I'm begging you all for some help. I'm feeling more than dumb at this point.
Cheers, Bobby

Thanks so much Omega Man and Reg26, the bike is garaged right now and the owner is visiting family this week but as soon as I can believe me. I'll write back here and tell you both how it went.
Cheers, Bobby

And for the future do not store the fob anywhere near the bike as doing so will wear down both the fob battery and the bikes battery.
