Shedding the Shinkos

Deflating the rear tire prior to removal, and not fully inflating it until it has been reinstalled, will make the job a lot easier.

Friedle

Be sure to inflate it first before putting back on bike, to seat the tire, THEN deflate enough to install on bike. Then re-fill to desired pressure.

While you have it off, be sure to clean the splines (on bike and on wheel) then re-lube with good spline lube. Also, be sure to clean out the "breather" hole to that if you would ever have a leak in the rear end, it directs the overflow of oil to ground instead of onto your brakes. Mine was totally plugged and the grease/oil made a mess inside my spline area.
