Route creation software for CRN (Connected Ride Navigator)

After years of using Basecamp for Garmin gps units last night I discovered that the Connected Ride Navigator changed the names of the routes that I had created when I imported them into the CRN. More confusingly it seems to have randomly re-named some files…I now have a couple of .gpx files that represent the total route instead of sections thereof.
I used to think that a .gpx file was a standard format..turns out that it is not.
Enter MyRoute-App.
I imported all of my .gpx files into MRA..which retained the naming convention for the individual files that I had given them..
Before I spend the $285 for MRA..Is there anyone who uses it with the Connected Ride Navigator successfully that can guide me?

I've been using TomTom's route planner for years...MyDrive

I use it with their Rider 550 satnav, BUT it will output a "standard" gpx file that, theoretically, should upload into a CRN.

I find it very easy to use for route and trip planning...love how it wirelessly and seamlessly syncs with the Rider. That device, however, is discontinued, so at some point, I may have to go back to Garmin or a CRN.

I have been using Garmin Units since 1988, starting with a III and then a 5 and then a Colormate, etc. :) I have a newer Nuvi 2597 in my truck which I dislike for several reasons, but I run old Zumo 660s on our bikes and in the car.

Now to the question.! I have accumulated about 300 waypoints (Favorites) and have them stored in both Mapsource and Basecamp as well as in the GPSs. If I bought a Tom Tom GPS is there equivalent PC software to store and manipulate waypoints; and is there a way to save all of these waypoints on a Tom Tom device?

Short answer: yes.

In TomTom's MyDrive, now called Plan.TomTom, you can store a seemingly unlimited number of POIs...hotels, passes, restaurants, locations, whatever. Find it, save it, and it syncs on the Rider 550, so they are all there on the satnav.

Here's a screenshot with lots of my saved locations, and the same shot with "my places" turned off.

But, whether you can import all your current info into TomTom, I simply don't know. You can certainly do it point by point, but as a file, I have no idea. I gave up on Garmin in 2018.

Finally, as I mentioned, I believe TomTom is getting out of the hardware business and concentrating on their GO driving app and new GO RIDE motorcycle app, all for android and apple phones. Both of those apps sync with their Planner, i.e., build a complex route on the planner and it will "appear" on the app. That is exactly how it works on the hardware satnav, the Rider 550. Build the route in Planner on your laptop, drinking your beverage of choice, save it, choose "sync," fire up the Rider satnav, join a wifi network and boom...your route is on the satnav. No muss, no fuss.

My only point in even mentioning this regarding the original post is that TT's Planner will output a gpx file...that, theoretically, could go wherever you want it to go, Garmin, Connected Ride, whatever. And the Planner is very easy to use, IMO.

I have been using BaseCamp since it first came out and it has worked very well for me over the years. I started using MyRoute largely to avoid carrying a laptop with me when I traveled in case I wanted to change my routes (I like to build routes on the computer and then transfer to my Nav6 or to the CA) I now use MR exclusively. Things I like, the ability to create routes in multiple formats, (I use TomTom when building routes for the CA (for my ‘21RT), satellite view to see the terrain (miss the Google Earth option on BaseCamp), works well on the IPad/iPhone, easy to transfer the route to the CA, continued updates that increase functionality/useability. Things I don’t like, prefer the BaseCamp maps, find manipulating the route as I’m building it easier on BC. Bottom line it does what I need it to do so I will continue to use.
