Road America Street Skills 2 Course review

G'day,

Last weekend I attended the Street Skills 2 course at Road America, located near Elkhart Lake, WI. The cost was only $150 - and BMW MOA even paid for it (MOA Foundation Paul B Scholarship)!

The course was excellent, concentrating on both low and intermediate speed safety and handling. The Road America class was held on a dedicated 1 mile track (speed limit 45 mph)with curves of all descriptions (on/off camber, uphill, downhill, decreasing radius, sweepers, chicanes, etc.). Mixed in were special low-speed exercises as well as emergency braking drills. One of the riders set his odometer at the beginning of the day and we determined that we had ridden about 36 miles (~36 laps and >450 turns) during the coarse.

Everyone in the class had a great time and all commented on the improvements they made during the day. Highly recommended!!

Thanks!

SS1 and SS2 were proposed and designed by me in 2015, and up and running as of last year.

Andy VH (fellow MOA member and on staff at Road America) is the designated instructor and does a GREAT job. Takes it very seriously.

Your comments are appreciated. :thumb
