Replacing Rear Main Seal '87 K75S

I need to replace the main seal on my 1987 K75s. I'm at the point of putting the seal in but now need some advice. I'v read Jon Diaz's Feb. 1997 article on how to do it (thanks Jon) and have noted the up date on the tool change design. I can't seem to find the tool sold by CARTOOL # 88 88 6 111 630. If I could I'm sure it would be crazy money being a BMW tool. At my age I will be using the tool once. Any one have a alternative method of installing this seal with it projecting from the rear of the engine body?

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Buy a pipe bell reducer with the big end the appropriate size for the seal. Buy a pipe nipple and cap to fit the small end of the reducer to make the handle and something to hammer on.

Thanks for the quick response on the tool Lee. How do I gauge the depth of the seal when driving it it?
