Rear Brake issue on 2004 R1200CLC

Hello everyone. This weekend, while going over my bike, I noticed that the disk on my rear break wobbles ever so slightly. If I flick the disk, it will subtly ring as it hits the calipers. I think that this is a major problem. I would like to get this fixed.

The question, is this kind of work something that should be done by a real mechanic, or is the actual work simple enough for someone with reasonable tinkering skills to tackle. Brakes seem important and I don't want to jeopardize my life for the sake of science. On the other hand, tinkering is fun and I am always up for a new challenge. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Clanging rear disk a common problem on CLC's. Mine was replaced under warranty with the updated disk from the R1200LT. Problem is with the little inserts on the disk. They get loose. Brake will work fine, just aggravating to hear. Go over to Chromeheads.org to see how hard-how much to replace. Great bike! Put 86000 on mine before getting hit and totalled...

I tried navigating chromeheads, but it is a bit messy for me. I will give it another go soon. However, I'm curious, how bad is it that my rear disk is wobbly in the caliper? I am not riding it for now, hoping not to make it worse, but some searching around and people are saying it's no big deal. Seems bad to me, but I don't know much.

Should I avoid riding the bike until its fixed? How bad is this?
