Just a short note about the great service I got when my diode board started acting up. Thr diode had gotten a jolt and started comencing charging at 4800 rpm, although it would charge down to 2000 rpm. I contacted the company and Rick jones told me that the diode board could be replaced with a brand new spec one for $20 US. It was turned around at the factory in one day! Without question the best servoce I have ever received for anything. Thanks Motorrad Elektrik.

Yup

I got good service from Rick also. I have been running the Omega system on my silver bike (oh yea, my son's silver bike) for 4 years without a problem :thumb

Gee....sounds like a good deal. I put down nearly $80 for a thunderchild diode board.

I'm confused. For clarification, do you mean that he repaired your old board for $20? The only new diode board on Rick's site is $90.
Please clarify.
Thanks

It was replaced by Motorrad Elektrik with a new diode board at a cost of $20 US including USPS surface mail to my Calgary address.

This is STILL clear as mud. Please select one (1) option from the list below...

1) You had a Motorrad Elektrik board FAIL out of warranty that they replaced for US$20, post paid.

2) You had a Motorrad Elektrik board FAIL within the warranty period that they replaced for US$20, post paid.

3) You had a diode board (from some other source) fail and Motorrad Elektrik sold you a new one for US$20, post paid.

Thanks for the clarification.

Good Grief!!!!!!!!! I am starting to think it was a mistake thanking Motorrad Elektrik on the forum. It was a M-E Omega 400 watt charging system purchased at least 2 years ago, so I don't know off hand if it was under warranty. I originally asked if the diodes could be checked and replaced as required and was told immediately that I could get a new diode board sent in exchange for the old one for $20 US. They also sent new installation instructions and all of the associated cables and grounds although I obviously had to have had them already.

NO...I think its just that most of us couldnt believe that one could obtain a new diode board for 20 bucks!

No. Thanks for posting this. I order stuff from them (for Twin City BMW) and get great service and help.
It wasn't confusing at all...when carefully read...over (how does one put a smile on here?).

Whoa! Please slow down and take a deep breath.
First, thanks for making it clear. Now it makes sense.
Second, please look real hard at your preivous posts as someone else would have read them and you will understand why we were confused.
Again, thanks for clearing it up. Now we understand.

Nevermind...I just figured it out. Read the faq. :thumb

Another thumbs up for Rick. He gave me EXCELLENT service a year ago when I had a problem with the Omega, and when I recently had another problem with it he remembered me right away and did not hesitate to offer replacement parts, even when I asked him if he was sure he wanted to run his warranty that long. I wound up not having him send anything as the problem turned out to be a wiring issue I fixed on the road, but I nevertheless greatly appreciate his impeccable service.
