R1200C Handlebar Swap Options

I just picked up a 98' R1200C with the tall "Ape" style bars and Im looking to switch to something lower. From what ive been told there are 3 types that came stock, tall apes, short apes and one with a cross bar which is very hard to find. Does anyone have any first hand experience changing these out to an after market set ? Im looking at a set of Magura bars, standard 7/8' diameter that a local seller has for $40. So if there are any surprises to watch out for doing a swap please chime in with some words of wisdom. Thanks!

BMW handlebars are metric... 7/8" "probably" won't fit the clamps or controls properly...

Those handlebars are 25 mm at the clamps and 22 mm at the grip ends. Choose carefully or adapt.

Also, you would need to allow for cable lengths and brake/clutch hose differences.
