R1150GS ABS button not working?

Hi.
The abs button on my 2003 R1150GS doesn't seem to do anything. When I am underway no warning lights are present, but when I press the ABS button, nothing happens. I haven't tried it in gravel to see if there is a difference yet. Shouldn't the warning light appear? Mine doesn't have a ABS light, but instead has a triangle WARNING light and a BRAKE FAILURE light. Neither ever lights up when Im riding.
