just took ride and my linkage needs grease, squeaking sound.. do i need to remove or can i spray some wd40? thank you

Is your linkage a door hinge 'cause that's one of the uses of WD-40? Otherwise.....

Which linkage? Front or rear? More information would be helpful. Paralever or telelever bearings or final drive pivot? Shock linkage? In any case I would disassemble and grease as I'm not sure the factory put your bike together using WD-40 as a lube. :D

Yeah, which linkage? The shift linkage? Take the left side foot plate off and remove the clips from the ball/sockets, pop them off and grease them. Reassemble.

Yes , the shift linkage .

Use a grease that will stick and stay there. I usually do that kind of work when I am doing a valve check/adjustment since the fairing is off anyway. Not difficult once you figure out how those clips around the ball & socket work.

Do it the correct way

Get some felt washers (max fiche), disassemble the linkage, clean it, lubricate it it and put it back together. The benefits are you save $$$, you know its done, you know how it works and you may find other issues that could pop up at the most inconvenient time.

The 1100's are the airheads of the future so its best to learn how to fix them in the home garage!
