Over Pants?

Hi again, any suggestions on a hot weather over pant? I want something I can pull on over shorts or bathing suit on a hot and remove and stow once at my destination. Thanks!

I never could find decent overpants I liked and ended up buying a pair of mesh riding pants a couple of sizes too big. It worked ok, but thighs were always tight. Olympia makes a mesh 1-piece suit (like the Aerostitch) I've heard it moves a lot of air, but might be more than you are looking for.

I use an Olympia Airglides pant whenever temps are above mid 60s. Good fit, lots of airflow. Only downside is getting them off with boots on - quite the interpretive dance!

Any riding suit--including leathers--can be pulled on over shorts.

You could do chaps, too, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Your goal is pants that don't come off in an accident and that means either a one-piece suit or pants zipped to jacket.

I bought some JOE ROCKET Phoenix III air pants that work quite well. Even has zippers down both legs to ease getting on and off with boots. I got these from Rev Zilla.

I use a variation of the Airglide, similar to the current model Olympia Daker Dual Sport pants. Basically a convertible Airglide pant, with cargo pockets and zip-off lower legs. I bought my normal waist size, but with the stretch waist, they are comfortable over shorts or jeans, or they are fine alone. Above 90º, I seldom wear anything more than LD Comfort shorts with them - the RT blocks too much wind. On my previous, un-faired bike it felt like riding without pants. (Potential dehydration risk!) I like to find spots a few hours from home with a five to ten mile trail for a day hike. With the lower legs zipped-off, they are cool and comfortable for the hike and the big pockets are really useful.

How about motoport?

I have a pair of Motoport kevlar mesh police pants and absolutely love them. By far the most comfortable ones I've used in hot weather and built like a tank. No question the best protection of any pants I've seen.

But man were they costy. The only reason I bought them was because I had the recall compensation money from BMW on my 2014 RT to play with, so I used it on things I'd wanted but hadn't be able to convince myself to buy like the pants, a Vanson properf jacket, and a pair of Sidi Onroad boods.

Tourmaster mesh pants - simple and comfy

I have a tourmaster air jacket and pants - reasonable quality and armor for hot days, additional zip ins for cool / wet.

Surprised no one has suggested the BMW Summer Pants -

NOT stylish, but very comfortable - they flow a lot of air - and take a beating and remain quite protective. Around $250 new.
