Greetings!

Originally from the Boston area. Grew up on Suzukis in the 70's. Scratch built an electronic ignition for one. Wife and I had three Harley's of various size. Commuted all winter up north. Bike toured NZ south island with Beach's Motorcycle Adventures.

Bought an R1100rsl in about 1996 from a Floridian who wanted a bigger fairing for NE winters; gave the bike to my son later for college graduation; bought it back again when he entered law school; rode it to Florida in 2005 when we moved to Orlando.

Just bought a '14 K16 GTLE as a two-up cruiser. Wow! What a motor! Though will probably change the seat to RDL (6'2, 34" inseam) and get some Sena BT headsets.... Advice welcome and I'll comb the Forum for articles, too....

Welcome to the forum, Phil! The K16 is a formidable tourer and will serve you well. Riding New Zealand is on my bucket list...congrats!

Welcome again, Phil!
Before you pull the trigger on an RDL, take a look at the Sargent World Sport.
We're the same height and inseam and mine fits me perfectly on my K16GT.

Joe
