NAV Prep question

Good morning,

I am a proud owner of a brand spanking new 2016 RT. I am picking it up next weekend from Grass Roots, in saying that I have a question about the built in NAV prep. What model of Garmin GPS's fit? Can you only use the Navigator V?

I already have a Garmin GPS (Garmin Zumo 660LM) and really don't want to have to drop the cash on another one if I do not have too.

Thanks! :scratch

The 660 and Nav 5 use the same mount and connections. They are very close to the same size. I was able to the the 660 on my 13 R1200GS with nav prep. There is a good chance your 660 will work with the new RT. You should be aware many of the features of the Nav 5 relating to bike information and control wheel will not work on the 660. I would suggest trying the Nav 5 on a dealer bike to see what will and will not work with your 660. I ended up selling the 660 and getting a Nav 5. No regrets.

Thanks for the Advice! that is what I will do.

Zumo 660 and BMW NAV IV are same hardware, different software. NAV V is completely new hardware and software, uses same style mounting bracket.

The pins are not configured the same, at all. I swapped mounting brackets to keep a hard line stereo out capability. The BMW configuration of the Garmin mount will provide power to 6XX Zumo, but that's about all of the integration you'll get.
