My Cross-Continent Trip of a Lifetime: 112 Days and 18,225 Miles

On April 11, 2024, I set out to explore the US and Canada on my motorcycle. I just got home!

I rode endless plains, twisty mountain roads, dramatic ocean cliffs, high deserts, low deserts, mesas and soaked in the majestic beauty of the arches, canyons, glaciers and geysers of our national parks. I met tons of people. I pushed myself to ride mountain roads that scared me. I experienced every kind of weather. I have memories that will last a lifetime.

For my data-centric friends, here are some stats:
  • 112 Days on the road
  • 18,225 Miles traveled
  • 28 US States visited
  • 29 US National Parks visited
  • 3 Canadian provinces visited
  • 3 Canadian National Parks visited
  • 2 New sets of tires
  • 1 New water pump
  • 3 Oil changes
I just finished blogging about the final days of the trip. Thanks to everyone who followed online and those I met along the way. I'm so fortunate to have been able to do this. You can see the whole trip and tons of pictures at https://amasur.me.

Well Played, amasur. Way to plan an epic ADVenture, and then execute that plan. I'll look at your blog later; busy replacing brakes on the 10-yr old TimeOut camper {after our troublesome ride to/from the MOA Rally in Oregon}. I see U bypassed "Sweet Home Alabama." That means U missed the fabulous Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds. BMW NA is sponsoring the US version of Oktoberfest 11-13 Oct.
Might add that to your To Do list on a future X-country Trek.

Sure hope you're recording and submitting your BMW Miles to both the MOA and via your M/C dealer to BMW North America..

That's 28 states you've visited - only 22 more to check-off your visited list! Feel free to put your feet up out back and relax for a spell. :1drink

And now...I'm revisiting about 16TB of video captured along the way, and documenting my entire adventure on YouTube.

If you'd care to ride along with me, the first couple episodes are live on my YouTube channel at

Ride safe out there,
-Adam

Hi all...an update,

I've been busy. I just posted day 12 of my trip.

I've decided on two formats...here are some examples.
  1. My daily meanderings--the ride, food, people, parks, and landmarks along the way.
  2. Extended Ride Videos--No narration--just the ride along memorable and/or iconic routes.

Hope you all enjoy my meanderings,
-Adam
