BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park returns to Warsaw.

Munich/Hinwil, 23 May 2008. The Polish fans of the BMW Sauber F1 Team and their home grown hero, Robert Kubica, have every reason to look forward to another very special Formula One experience. From 13th to 15th June 2008 the BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park visits Warsaw, PolandÔÇÖs capital city, for the second time. BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica will visit the Formula One theme park on 14th June. At the Bemowo Airfield, all Formula One enthusiasts will get a taste of the unique atmosphere that surrounds motorsportÔÇÖs highest category.

Kubica, who is currently fourth in the DriversÔÇÖ World Championship with 24 points, says: ÔÇ£The BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park is great. Last year in Warsaw more than 100,000 fans took the opportunity to find out more about Formula One. IÔÇÖm sure all the fans will be thrilled again with the fantastic attractions Pit Lane Park has to offer. Where else can you actually climb inside a monocoque or see a completely dismantled race car? My favourite activity in the park is the simulator. The rides are amazingly realistic.ÔÇØ

In 2007 the BMW Sauber F1 TeamÔÇÖs high-tech event park paid a visit to Warsaw and it turned out to be real crowd puller. In Poland the BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park managed to draw the largest numbers to date, with a total of 109,220 excited fans. ÔÇ£IÔÇÖm certain that a lot more people would have been there if Pit Lane Park had had a bigger capacity,ÔÇØ says Kubica. ÔÇ£The atmosphere was incredible.ÔÇØ

The BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane ParkÔÇÖs new design is the perfect answer to the huge interest from Formula One fans, as far more of them can be accommodated in the approximately 6000-sqm area in 2008. The grandstands surrounding the 100-metre race track offer over 600 seats to the visitors, who can watch the F1 car demonstrations and spectacular action by a Formula BMW FB02 race car.

For the first time tickets will be on offer for the Warsaw BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park, to give all fans who want to visit this interactive Formula One pit lane equal opportunities and in order to manage the expected stream of visitors. Tickets are available on the internet, at www.eventim.pl and in over 150 stores countrywide.

Demonstrations by BMW racing cars lie at the heart of the activities offered by the Pit Lane Park: whilst talented youngster Michael Christensen (DK) will drive the FB02, the driver of the BMW Sauber F1 TeamÔÇÖs car, Ho-Pin Tung (CN) is no stranger to proceedings, having thrilled visitors to the Pit Lane Park in Shanghai with a spectacular donut performance. Obviously Kubica will take over the wheel of the car on Saturday, 14th June.

The BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park, which offers numerous new theme garages and an impressive two-storey structure, celebrated its 2008 premiere at the Turkish Grand Prix in Istanbul. More than 25,000 Turkish fans experienced Formula One close up, gained many new insights into the world of racing, and literally reached out and touched this fascinating sport. So it comes as no surprise that the motto for this year is ÔÇ£Get closerÔÇØ.

The BMW Sauber F1 Team Pit Lane Park will be situated at WarsawÔÇÖs Bemowo Airfield.

MINI Challenge at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

On the surface, the link between MINI CHALLENGE and boating may seem tenuous at best, but look a bit deeper and MINI CHALLENGE racer, Darren Berry will build that link for you as his company - Clipper Motor Yachts - presents his MINI CHALLENGE racecar at the 20th annual Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show this weekend, May 22 - 25.
The show is an important part of Clipper Motor Yachts' annual marketing strategy, with over 40,000 show-goers expected from around Australia and many parts of the world. Aside from marine industry exhibits, the Show features an international business lounge and will have many 'world exclusive' releases throughout the weekend.

The parallels between the MINI CHALLENGE racer and one of Clipper Motor Yachts' flagship models - the 34-foot Europa 34 - can easily be drawn. The Europa 34 is the baby of Clipper's fleet and its Cummins QSB diesel engine develops some 230 horsepower - not dissimilar to the MINI John Cooper Works CHALLENGE racecar's 210 horsepower. Although having said that, the Europa's 1100 litre fuel tank dwarfs the 50 litres that can be crammed into the MINI!

Berry - who is the Managing Director of the Murrarie (Brisbane) based Clipper Motor Yachts - has turned his hand to motor racing in 2008. After owning a raft of high performance cars from virtually all of the world's leading marques - Darren had never completed so much as a track day before suiting up and taking on the best of MINI CHALLENGE at Eastern Creek, joining the Motorline MINI Garage team.

Since Eastern Creek, he has made rapid improvement and indeed was most impressive throughout much of the wet qualifying session at Barbagallo Raceway just over one week ago.

"I've never raced before and I was presented with a good opportunity by Motorline MINI Garage," said Darren. "I had thought about it and looked at other categories, but they didnÔÇÖt provide the right avenue for Clipper Motor Yachts.

"MINI CHALLENGE is a way that I can go motor racing in a relatively cost effective manner and promote my business to an audience that is also interested in boating.

"Ultimately, I would like to involve the marine industry in this project, as there is benefit both ways by being involved."

That process has already started, with a new magazine targeted at the high end motor yacht purchaser, Ultimate Boating and Lifestyle joining Darren's efforts as a commercial partner. The next issue of UBL will feature MINI CHALLENGE and Darren.

"The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show gives us a great platform to show off the car and show what MINI CHALLENGE is all about to people who enjoy boating," Darren concluded. "Many of those who attend the Boat Show are either involved in motor racing or possess a strong interest in the sport."

MINI CHALLENGE is a new racing category on the Australian motorsport scene, utilising identical MINI John Cooper Works CHALLENGE racecars. The Series has a commitment from MINI in Australia for at least the next five years. MINI CHALLENGE has an eight race Series alongside the V8 Supercar Championship Series and will race at iconic circuits such as Bathurst, Phillip Island, Sandown and Oran Park. The first year of the Series has attracted a television package including over seven hours coverage, four hours of which is live.

Twenty-three years of activity Prize BMW Painting [/ b]

It has been more than two decades since that distant April 1986 in which he convened the first edition of the BMW Award for Painting, which won Don Jose Osorio Vega with his work entitled Composition. Throughout these twenty-three years, this award has been reaffirmed as the purest under patronage of art, without seeking any return for economic or trade mark.

The BMW Painting Prize was awarded three major awards: the Prize BMW endowed with 35,000 euros; Scholarship Mario Antol?¡n Support Research pictorial, whose fellow receives 9,000 euros (6,000 euros in prizes and the remaining 3,000 euros at the end of the table as a result of its investigation pictorial), and lastly, the Talent Award BMW younger, with 4,000 euros, which is reserved for children aged between eight and twelve years, and whose theme is as follows: "Nature and Animal World," "Ecology and Environment" and "Family and Friendship". The Award BMW also has ten special mentions that correspond to the Medals of Honor.
With this twenty-first day of this month of May, the Jury Prize BMW Painting, chaired by Sir Don Ramon Gonzalez de Amezua and Noriega, has met with the Executive Chairman of BMW Group Spain, Don Eduardo Villaverde, with the notable purpose to convene the XXIII edition of the BMW Award for Painting.

We must also stress that this cultural activity promoted by BMW Iberian SA exists for the sole purpose of promoting and rewarding the artists residing in our country. Munich. Hendrik von Kuenheim, general director of BMW Motorrad since the beginning of this year, has been elected President of the International Motorcycle Manufacturers Association (IMMA) by its members. He succeeds Minoru Harada, Honda, who had held the office since May 2006. The members of the IMMA comprise all of the world's most prominent motorcycle manufacturers, serving as a platform upon which they can come together to jointly define technical standards and to present their interests from a common front. Amongst its activities, the association works together with the UN World Forum, with whom it is aiming to effect the harmonisation of technical vehicle regulations (UNECE WP29). It is for this reason that Hendrik von Kuenheim stated that one of the goals of his presidency would be to take on "an enthusiastic role in the current international discussion on increased road safety." BMW was the first company in the world to sell an anti-lock braking system for motorcycles, and to this day, it remains the market leader in this particular form of safety equipment. In 1947, BMW also became one of the founder members of the Bureau Permanent International des Constructeurs de Motocycles, as the IMMA was known until 1987.

Munich/Brescia. It was 70 years ago that BMW first entered its 328 model in the Mille Miglia. For this year's anniversary appearance, BMW will be following the historic example by deploying four of these legendary roadsters in the event. Joining them will be the BMW 328 Berlin-Rom racing variant from 1941 as well as a BMW 327 Convertible and a 327/28 Coup?®. With nine private teams entering, a total of 16 BMW cars will be lining up in Brescia for the start of the 2008 Mille Miglia.

For the first time this year, BMW's heritage division will be debuting under its new designation BMW Classic. "Taking part in such a tradition-rich event with our new name is very special for us," said the Director of BMW Classic, Karl Baumer. "And the fact that we will be on the road exactly 70 years after the first BMW 328 lends extra appeal to the race," he added. But the achievements of those historic forerunners are unlikely to be surpassed: 70 years ago the teams in their BMW 328s swept up the first four places in the 2000 cc class and majestically claimed the team trophy in the regularity race.
