Whitby, Ontario. BMW Group Canada reported today record May sales of 3,324 BMW and MINI vehicles, up 6.1% over May 2007. Year-to-date BMW and MINI sales are 10,622 units, a slight decrease of 3.3% over the same period last year.
The BMW brand set a new May sales record of 2,747 units, up 1.0% over May last year. Year-to-date, 8,892 BMWs have been sold, a slight 6.4% decline over last year.
BMW Certified Series Pre-Owned sales in May increased 18.6% to 732 units. Total Pre-Owned BMW sales increased 8.1% in May to 898 units. Year-to-date BMW Certified Pre-Owned sales are 2,845 units, up 1.9% compared to the same period last year. Total year-to-date BMW Pre-Owned sales are 3,403 units, down 6.2% over last year.
BMW Motorrad Canada celebrated its best ever May sales with 335 units sold, up 2.8% over May 2007. Year-to-date, Motorrad has retailed 734 motorcycles in Canada which is a slight 6.1% decrease from the same period in 2007.
MINI Canada set a new monthly sales record. MINI sales in May were up 40.0% over May 2007 representing 577 MINIs retailed. Year-to-date MINI sales have increased 16.7% over the same period last year which sets a new May year-to-date record of 1,730 MINIs.
MINI Canada Pre-Owned division celebrated their best ever May sales and broke the 100 unit monthly sales mark for the first time. Total MINI Pre-Owned sales were 111 units for May, an increase of 79.0%. MINI Next Certified Pre-Owned sales increased 80.6% in May to 65 units. Year-to-date, MINI Next Certified Pre-Owned sales rose 39.6% to 215 units. Year-to-date total MINI Pre-Owned sales are 354 MINIs, up 44.5% compared to the same period last year.
