Lowering the R1150GS/Adventurer

I really love the new GS's and have been riding a '92 GS/PD. I thought that was vertically challenging but the new GS's are taller Has anyone done any shortening or lowering of these bikes?

I,m getting older and shorter myself but hate to give up on the GS.

I had a discussion with a friend about this issue. Rather than spending a bunch of money on shocks & stuff. I told him to take his riding boots to the shoe guy downtown & have him put a 1/2,3/4 or a 1 inch extension sole on them. Your legs will be instantly longer & it might even help you out with the women!
Don't know if he did it or not, haven't seen him, he has a harley & its riding season

BMW makes a factory low comfort seat that lowers the seat a couple inches.

I have installed the factory lower seat on my Adventure and it has helped quite a bit. After seeing the way Jimmy Lewis rides the GS/Adventure I am thinking the ride height issue may be more psychological than physiological. There seems to be some good bio-mechanical workarounds for this.

Hey Sojourner! Think I've seen you putzing around Summit County on your bike. I'd give the BMW comfort low seat a test drive and see if it works for you. A GS is a great bike for Summit County!
