K Bike tool kit

Anyone know where I can get a tool kit for my K12RS for less than the 185.00
the dealer charges?
Or even a list of necessary tools , I'll put it together myself.
Thanx

I wouldn't think the K12RS would be too hard. Just off the top of my head:

- 3/4/5/6mm allen wrenches
- T20/25/30 Torx drivers
- 19?mm deep socket for the rear wheel lug bolts
- Another deep socket (16mm?) for the spark plugs
- Something to drive the deep sockets (either a breaker bar or ratchet)
- Flat blade and phillips screwdrivers
- Needlenose pliers (to help pull nails out of your tires :laugh)
- 10/12/13/14/17mm box-end wrenches
- ABS shim for the rear-brake caliper

I think you can do most of what you would need to do with those sizes.

I don't think the stock kit is that much. Maybe that is the extended tool kit with the sockets, etc. in it. The stock tool kits are usually around $90 or so.

I saw a nice toolkit at BMW of Grand Rapids for $75. I don't believe it was model specific, had all the general tools in it - even tie wraps and a nice roll case to keep it all in.

Heyco wrench set for your tool kit

If you want to add Teutonic authenticity to your tool kit, you can purchase a set of six Heyco open end wrenches for $34.00 here:

You can also buy a Heyco reversible screwdriver, just like in the "real" kit.

On the other hand, eBay sellers often offer BMW bike or car tool kits.
