Just bought a 2005 K1200S

Just bought an 05 K1200S from the crew at BMW Motorcycles of Jacksonville with 7,900 miles. Spotless, Surge-less, rattle-less. It amazes me how little respect this bike gets because it will ONLY do 175 mph! What a fantastic value and a fantastic bike. I just ordered the sport side cases today. The general forum consensus is that while pricey they do work well. I'll drop into the conversation from time to time. Thanks for having me.

Did the PO or the dealer have documentation the updated cam chain tensioner and chain jump guard update was done?

The tensioner is not hard to verify sitting on top of the engine above the clutch housing. The new one is a short tubular stack, the old one a flat plate held on with two screws.
Hopefully done and done...low miles so let'r rip!

Welcome to the forum! Sounds like you got a bike that was ridden a thousand miles a year :thumb

Chain jump guard and a few other recalls were performed. I'll tackle the tensioner myself in a few days. Is it still "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey"?:brad

My dealership called this afternoon to tell me that my Sport Side Bags came in!:dance it took them no more than ten minutes to key the locks to my ignition. The bag mounts and set up was very quick. Much easier than an Inspection II and a spline lube.;) They're smaller than I was expecting but look nice on the bike.
