I want the truth - You can't handle the truth

In the movie "A Few Good Men" a young Navy JAG (Tom Cruise) challenges a Marine Colonel (Jack Nicholson) to tell the truth and the Colonel tells him "You can't handle the truth". I assure you BMW MOA'ers, I can handle the truth. Given the 2025 F900 GS is a 895cc engine and the 2025 F800 GS is a detuned 895cc engine, why does the F800 GS weigh 500 lbs (fueled, per the BMW website) and the F900 GS weigh 18 lbs less, at 482 lbs (fueled, per BMW website)?

Scratching my head on this one.

Different wheels, different frame and plastics, different lighting, and probably different materials elsewhere. And from the BMW website: "The engine, the body – we have optimized everything to achieve a bike with maximum power but at a light weight." (their typical fluff)
