Hello from Redding CA

About 10 days ago I bought a 2008 K1200s, with 24k miles.

For just a couple thousand bucks, I got an outstanding deal on it. The former owner got too old to ride any longer. He provided me with just 1 key for it.

It used to be serviced at Hansen BMW of Medford. Sadly, that business was destroyed in a fire, as were its service records.

I just signed up for BMWMOA a couple of days ago.

I live near Redding CA, and have been away from BMW since 2009.

For my K1200s, I'd like to add heated grips, a heated vest lead, and circuits to charge a Garmin Nuvi GPS and a cell phone. Are Eastern Beaver fuze boxes still the best way to expand electricity for these sorts of items? Any guidance is appreciated.

Welcome aboard fellow NorCal person! Easter Beaver is great stuff, but there are some solid state fuse boxes that are pretty terrific these days and are super small.

Ozzie's in Chico is probably your best bet. Greetings from Santa Rosa in Sonoma County, sir.

Go go Gadget K-Bike!

Hola 96022! Hope your investment in a gently used K12S works out for you as time goes by!

Sounds like you’ve got a good plan to add farkles, but go look on the bike-specific thread to get pertinent feedback... >>>.
Good Luck ADVenturing in the boonies of N.Cal on your fancy new Beemer. Bet there are some great switchbacks up yonder! We went through there when doing the Iron Butt National Parks Tour {got the Lassen Volcanic N.P. stamp}.

Ciao from the scenic Tennessee River Valley!

Welcome to the site.
With the VIN a dealer can get you another key.
Check to see if the plastic fuel line quick disconnect was replaced with a metal one.
If the previous owner can't remember, you'll need to tip the fuel tank out of the way to look.

I can't remember if BMW replaced the plastic Quick Disconnect when they had the fuel pump flange recall.
Anyone remember?

Welcome inspectorrgadget96022! Sounds like you landed on a lucky star. A pic or two of the beauty/beast would be appreciated.
