GSA to RT?

I am the second owner of a 2017 1200 GS Adventure low suspension. I bought it last July with 10,300 miles on it and have been lucky enough to put about 11,000 more miles on it. Although I don't do off-roading, I have used it extensively as a sport tourer. The bike is slick and have started thinking about swapping it for an RT - somewhere in the 2016 -2018 model range. I just like the smoothness of the RT and prices for these two bikes in the same age are about the same. I wonder how hard it would be to find a BMW rider that has an RT with an itch for a gs Adventure? I can't afford two bikes or that would be my preferred option. What to do, what to do...LOL

I own a 2023 R (not an RT) and a GS and a nineT Scrambler. I can attest that the R is a nicer ride on pavement than the GS. Can imagine that the RT with windscreen and fairing would be even nicer.

I would be interested to hear more thoughts on the R riding experience compared to RS and RT.

I wise BMW rider once told me that the RT was everything the RS wanted to be. However, the R and RS seem to command a lower price and are therefore more affordable if you're willing to give up the stereo and superb fairing of the RT (I would run a medium/large screen on a R if I had one).

Take a look at the RS. You can probably buy a 2019 R1250RS cheaper than a 2018 R1200RT.
The RS is a comfortable sport touring bike.
Welcome to the forum.
I see this is a old thread and the OP has not returned to the site since the end of May.
