Front Fender Reflector Removal - R1200RS

I'd like to remove these reflectors. They seem to be fastened with super-duper double faced tape. Is there an easy way to remove them?

Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Seems that I recall using a piece of monofilament fishing line to be "dragged" under the badge or reflector will do it. Like the way they cut block cheese or garrote a person. :eek
A bit of adhesive will still need to be dealt with.

Ah yes, garrotting a person, that sounds familiar. :blush

I'll look into that fishing line thing. Any particulat gauge/test? Thanks!

Heating the reflector with a heat gun or hair dryer will help the fishing line to do its job. Be careful not to overdo the heat or you may damage the fender. I’ve used dental floss successfully.

Whether the fishing line or the dental floss, it's the sorta sawing action that makes it work. Whatever fits the best.

I've got some Goo Gone so I'll give that a blast first. The Wonderwheel is a good backup plan. :thumb

Removed mine this weekend with floss . Quick wipe of WD40 and let sit for a minute . Scrape with a plastic razor at a mild angle and it was done .
Another wipe of running alcohol , and installed flush 3M reflective sticker in place .

On our 2016 R1200RSs I had to remove the reflectors because the Clearwater light fender mounts would not tighten all the way down before hitting the reflectors.
I used fishing line, a plastic label scraper and Goo Gone.

And the verdict is....

Heat, fishing line, a plastic putty scraper and Goo Gone worked great!

Thanks to all who contributed. :bow
