Lol - I think we'd give you a serious run for the money. 4 out our last six governors are in jail and that's just the petty stuff. (100 billion in unfounded state pensions. . .where did that money go?)

What I think is funny how sometimes we get all wound up about stories in the media about contries like Mexico or the Mid-East, where bribes and corruption are commonplace and we are happy that we live in a civilized and developped country.....

I also live in Illinois. Your statement is not correct.

Illinois only has 2 governors in jail currently. Rod Blagojevich and George Ryan.

However, 4 of the last 7 have been convicted and all of them served some time.

Unfunded pension payments went to pay current expenses, during decades of low income taxes, which allowed the State to live beyond it's means. Kind of like credit card debt.

Unless they can DRASTICALLY increase their income, bankruptcy is the only option for them.
