Fastener Torque Specifications

The RT has the same torque specs for almost all the bolts and nuts.
The major difference is the plastics on the RT and the specific locations of the screws for these panels, as some have longer shoulders to compensate for how many pieces of plastic they go through.

It's pretty dubious to be working on one of these bikes without owning the Service DVD, available from dealer. This is a compilation of all the procedures used by factory technicians.

As well as including all the factory procedures for how to do things, the torque specs are there.

Looking for 2014 and up R1200RT torque specs data. I found this http://www.jvbproductions.com/Wethead%20Torques%204.pdf but it's for GS and GSA bikes. There should be something for the RT

As said, virtually all fasteners are the same for both bikes, and the 1250. The bodywork fasteners are all the same torques as the GS/GSA fasteners. There are a couple of differences however. Mainly in items like the handlebars.

In those cases go by bolt size, also listed in the mentioned document.
