22 R18 B. NOT computer savvy. (Went to school on the little blue bus as relates to tech issues); iphone14 et al. Looking for help with set-up and use so I can utilize navigation etc as well as other tech apps. I was born about 10 years too early to naturally sort the tech stuff out by myself. Would be happy to travel a reasonable distance and ply you with steaks and bourbon in exchange for technical assistance. Northeastern PA location. 100-150 miles travel on my part is fine with me. Many Good Miles to All !! wbuffton@pa.gov, simplemonk61@hotmail.com, 570-906-1226 Bill

Wow. Just glanced at the manual for the R18 B TFT, and there are two parts...

BT for audio (and ConnectedRide app required), and WiFi for maps. But the manual doesn't describe whether the WiFi is provided by the phone or the TFT.

From page 111:
WI-FI
WiFi connection

A WiFi connection is used to
transmit the map view from
a mobile phone to the TFT
display. To enable the full
scope of function, WiFi must
be enabled on the mobile
phone. More information on
activating WiFi can be found in
the operating instructions of
the mobile phone.
Depending on local conditions,
such as a high number of WiFi
networks, temporary limitations
and connection dropouts can
occur.

Best bet would be to see if there are some simple steps to follow from the R18 community. A quick search provided this, which indicates that the TFT provides the WiFi network for map functions.
