Does anyone here remember Keith Patchett? Hes the guy who owned "Kieths Touring" in New Jersey back in the 80's and 90's and he passed away in the early 90's.

I have a complete collection of his tech writings and I want t talk to his family about redistributing them to our community. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to track anyone down but someone must know someone.

Any help would be appreciated!

I have a few of his articles as well. There was a brief exchange on the forum about him...William was looking for information as well.

William knew him well and was something of a friend of the family. You might remember his posts on Boxerworks...I recognize you from that forum, not sure if you're posting over there since the change. Will was the guy who bought a R100RT I believe and was riding it across country and had an accident. Kept him off bikes for a while.

I exchanged a few emails with Will and even talked to him on the phone. You might try sending him a PM but it looks like the last time he posted was last summer and last visited this forum in November. If you would like to contact Will, let me know and I'll PM you his email address.

I bought an electronic ignition for my airhead from his family years ago shortly after his death when they were liquidating his stock. I may still have that contact information somewhere, I'll try to find it. It may very well not be current though.

I remember Will! In fact, I think that we exchanged a couple of emails and phone calls after his accident. I sure hope he recovered completely... Nice guy! Please send me his contact info.

I'm not on Boxerworks much anymore. I don't really like the new forum software's layout, plus the place has turned into something of a zoo. Too many arguments and bad vibes for me. Several of the regular "senior members" have been driven off (Me, Vanzen, Duane, a few others.) but Matts trying to get the place under control, so we'll see how it goes but I'm findable either here or on advrider.com in the "Olds Cool" section.

You can allways email me at: mymindsok@yahoo.com

Thanks in advance!

Did anything ever come of the efforts to make Kieth Patchett's tech writings on the Airheads available?

While reading an old Owners News (Sep 86), I discovered that Kieth was one of the very first BMW MOA Ambassadors named in 1972. They were:

Dave Malcolm - Biloxi MS
Kieth Patchett - Rapid City SD
Phil Funnell - Vancouver BC
Dana Sawyer - West Columbia SC
Dick Hautau - Detroit MI
Bernie Gee - Johnson City TN

Dick Hautau was a nice guy.

I was often in contact with Keith in the 80's and even visited him in both NJ and NM. I also have his tech writings, like the tune up one which is 20 pages. Does the Airhead site have an archive of articles? You could scan what you have and upload it there maybe.

As far as I know nothing exists on the Airheads site or any others for that matter. I'm not sure of the status of open use...it might be restricted in some way. It would be good to find out, though.

How many tech articles did Kieth put together? I'm in possession of three, being about fork alignment, regulators/charging, and stopping engine ping. I also have a smallish catalog. Beyond that, I'm not sure there was much more.
