I changed from BMW 10-40 Dino To BMW 15-50 synthetic. The bike was using a quart of Dino every three thousand miles. I may have used 100ml in the last 3200 miles. Has anyone experienced anything similar on their oilhead when switching oil types?
The bike had 54,000 miles on it when the switch was made. Accelerating Is faster above 4,000 rpm with the synthetic. The oil was staying cleaner with the dino, the synthetic turned the oil black after 500 miles. Does the synthetic have stronger detergent in than the dino?
